New Parents, New Families.

The journey to parenthood is filled with both breathtaking moments and unexpected challenges.

The Blossom Method offers therapy services for your emotional well-being during the perinatal and postpartum periods. Our therapists are certified to help you navigate the highs and lows during the preconception, perinatal, postpartum period, and beyond.

The reproductive period is often accompanied by fertility challenges, genetic discoveries, unexpected losses, unforeseen medical issues with mother or baby, NICU stays, and much more. This is our area of specialty.

Our team holds you during the most difficult challenges of your adult life.

Aviva Cohen, LCSW PMH-C

Aviva Cohen is a graduate of Boston University and Loyola’s School of Social Work. She is a Licensed Clinical Social worker, and is certified in perinatal mental health with her PMH-C. She has 20-plus years of experience in women’s health. Aviva is a sought-after speaker who gives talks at conferences and seminars regarding an array of topics within women’s reproductive health.

Aviva was the Perinatal Loss Program Coordinator at Northwestern Memorial’s Prentice Women’s Hospital for 13 years. She covered Labor and Delivery, as well as the Family Planning Clinic, following women who were experiencing a perinatal loss or medical termination due to fetal anomalies.

She specializes in grief, loss, fertility struggles, medical terminations, NICU, and all facets of the reproductive journey including work/life balance for parents, and relationship issues that develop during the family building years.

Aviva began The Blossom Method outpatient center 13 years ago as she and her colleagues in the medical community recognized that the loss and fertility populations were not being serviced or supported adequately. The practice has grown from two therapists to many more.

Aviva and her team are committed to helping families during their time of need, ensuring that all calls and emails are returned within hours so no one ever feels forgotten or alone. The lack of patient responsiveness was a major reason for beginning this practice.

The Blossom Method continues to support women and their families as they live through their own personal journeys in their quest to start a family. Aviva lives on the Northshore with her husband and 4 children.
